3 Oct 2009 Dublin, Ireland: Automsoft has announced that it has successfully passed OPC UA interoperability testing for its rapidHistorian ™ data historian and nuaViews™ process visualization technologies at a workshop in Neuremburg, Germany. Automsoft‟s products were tested, in a controlled environment, for data collection interoperability with other OPC UA technology providers.
“This accreditation further underlies Automsoft‟s commitment to OPC interoperability standards and provides the assurance that our technology is tested, ready to integrate and delivers the level of reliability that our customers demand”, said Ian Pepper, CTO at Automsoft.
OPC Unified Architecture (UA) is the next generation of connectivity standards from OPC. Unlike previous COM-based specifications, it is a layered specification distinct from the technologies used to implement it. Allowing deployment of servers on embedded systems, web-services and multiple platforms it is a standard that is protected from changes in the technology used to implement it. It builds on industry bestpractices and open standards for security and protocol implementations.
Automsoft attended the OPC UA Workshop with the following companies ARC Informatique, Bachmann electronic GmbH, Beckhoff Automation GmbH, CAS, Certec EDV GmbH, Cyberlogic, DERDACK GmbH, ETM professional control GmbH, Infors AG, Ing.-Buero Allmendinger, MatrikonOPC, OPC Foundation, OPC Labs, Progea SRL, Siemens AG, Softing AG and Unified Automation GmbH.
